Solana Ventures the main investor of Solana blockchains due to their mission, to accelerate the growth of Solana on the blockchain, started a project recently, This is producing a new android cell phone which is called Solana Saga, is a high-speed 6.67 inches and it is appealing for 1000$, will be available in 2023. The reason for producing this device is to make trading easier with no need for laptops.

Solana Laboratories, the blockchain’s main shareholder, is producing an Android device named “Saga” for the Solana network.

The next device is a customised OSOM (Out of Sight, Out of Mind), phone with crypto-wallet functions, as well as the “Solana Mobile Stack (SMS)” software development kit for Web3 apps, which was presented at a launch event. It will cost roughly $1,000, and will be available for purchase in early 2023, according to Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko.

The device represents Solana’s greatest investment in mobile device development. There will also be a Web3 dapp (decentralised application) store, a “Solana Pay” feature built-in to process transactions using QR codes for on-chain, an adaptor for mobile wallets, and a “seed vault” to store secret keys.

“Everything is going digital. “Cell phones are the primary way of communication in the majority of countries.” Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of crypto exchange FTX (a cryptocurrency exchange built by traders), a major Solana contributor, told during the event. “But the cryptocurrency cell phone is taking even longer,” he added, pointing out how difficult it is now, to use dapps on mobile phones.

He also mentioned, “creating a real wallet on your smartphone is the best solution for accessibility.”

Solana Laboratories has announced that they will collaborate with other companies to power the device’s hardware environment, such as Magic Eden, the leading NFT (non-fungible token) marketplace. Phantom, the largest wallet operator, and Orca, a decentralised finance (DeFi) service. Head managers of all three companies gathered to consult on the future of online experiences with these new generations of mobile devices.

The head managers of this team mentioned that while Google and Apple marketplaces receive a percentage of purchases, the Solana phone app store will not provide any withdrawal fees.” Yakovenko stated.

“The Solana Foundation donated $10 million to develop a mobile application on its SMS platform. “

“Most of our life time passes on our mobile phone these days – with the exception of Web3 due to the lack of a mobile-centric strategy for handling private keys ,” Yakovenko, a co-founder of Solana, said in a news release. ” A new route through Solana that is free software, safe, Web3 optimised, and user-friendly is shown through the Solana Mobile Platform.

“This Web3 smartphone attempt is not the first. Sirin Laboratories had plans to release a blockchain-native phone in 2018, but the project struggled to make support, resulting in losses and disputes. When Yakovenko, a former Qualcomm engineer questioned the limitations of previous efforts to put bitcoin-friendly phones to market, he stated that the Solana phone was better situated for performance since there were more crypto programmers in the industry in 2018.
